One of the country’s architectural landmarks, the Isa Cultural Centre and National Library in Manama showcases Bahraini art and literature. The Centre was built by the government in 2006 and is located next to the Al Fateh Mosque and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs. The building’s white stoned façade features typical Islamic archways above which are windows intricately carved with geometric stars and flowers.
The National Library at Isa Cultural Centre is an active part of the intellectual and educational system in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and adds a significant contribution to the cultural advancement trend. The library aims to provide advanced services and access to various sources of knowledge in all its forms (printed, audio and visual) to all segments of society. It is also seeking to collect and preserve the national intellectual output in printed and non-printed forms.
